Maksim Landen - 12 year old "Maks" is quite a handful to deal with. His disregard for his mothers mysterious past is not a secret. He loathes his mother, for both justifiable and unjustifiable reasons. He loathes her to a point where he does poorly in school and gets in trouble "just because". At least thats what he tells her. And having the perfect twin sister isn't easy either. But he loves his sister with all of his heart. He loves her because she is everything he is not.

Alisson Landen - Unlike her twin brother, "Aliss" loves the fact that even though her mother has been through a lot, she still loves her kids unconditionally. Aliss works hard to make sure her mother wont have to, and to make sure her twin brother doesn't screw anything up. She understands her brothers frustration with their mother, but doesn't agree with him at all.
After years of moving from state to state, and town to town with their estranged mother, a pair of Aliss and Maks are whisked away into the mysteriously magical world of "Idelle".





Brief Synopsis:

In the world of Idelle, at the age of 12 every child is sent out to a mystical garden to find a gem called a "soul stone". Once they find a stone that speaks to their heart, or better yet a stone finds them, they are put through a process called "The Joining". During the joining, the gem is merged into a glove like apparatus called a "gauntlet", and after a week of sickness brought on by the gem merging with the body, the process is complete, the child then finds out what forging class they will join and what school they will attend. When the joining is complete the children begin their journey onto becoming "forgers", a practitioner of magic who can control one of 6 classes of magic.

Elemental Forging (broken down into many different types of forging),

Creo Forging (to create, control, and manipulate things from scratch).

Chrono Forging (to create, control, and manipulate forms of time and space.)

Photo Forging (to create, control, and manipulate forms of light).

Pseudo Forging (to control and manipulate the mind with illusions).

Sano Forging (to control, and manipulate the health of the mind and body).

The class a child is put in determines what school they will go to. The 6 schools are named after the founders of the city.

Idelle was created when six forgers from very different backgrounds came together in a time of great peril. The six forgers fused for a month and built the city from scratch. Fusing is a dangerous process in which forgers from different classes bind their gauntlets by holding them in front of each other (gem to gem) and focusing. This particular fusing was extremly dangerous because it involved more than two forgers, a process called "Chain Fusing".
